Vote YES to pass H.R. 3619 BECAUSE TRANSPARENCY IS FAIR AND NEEDED FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE AMERICAN CONSUMERS.

  2. USPAP was established to promote and maintain a high level of public trust, however HVCC and Dodd-Frank have not allowed for an accurate and true representation of the appraisers compensation. Aside from the time spent on email blasts attempting to find the least expensive appraiser, a less qualified individual (geographically, type of property, etc.) may also result in additional time delays due to underwriter concerns, lender or investor requirements not being met and revisions further eroding the reputation of the appraisal profession. With proper education, borrowers would understand the educational requirements and expertise of appraisers, our role in the lending process and would be better prepared to compensate appraisers as they would any other professional they engage.

  3. Please pass this bill to have AMC’s post their fee on each appraisal. As they often times delay the lending process for weeks as they seek bids with the lowest fees. This should help speed up the process.
